Inaugural Global Poker Award Winners Announced
The first of its kind came from a merger between the European Poker Awards and the American Poker Awards.
Taking place at the PokerGo studio in Aria, Las Vegas, there were 20 awards in total.
Ali Imsirovic won the Breakout Player of the Year with John Cynn taking the Tournament Performance of the Year for the WSOP.
As usual, the Tournament of the Year was the WSOP, and Justin Bonomo took the Moment of the Year. That was for his capture of the Super High Roller trifecta.
The awards did not go without some controversy. As you will see below Doug Polk was actually nominated. Unfortunately for the nominating committee Doug hasn’t vlogged since the 2017 WSOP.
