WPT agree deal with Mexican broadcaster

The World Poker Tour and Mexican multimedia firm TV Azteca have agreed a long-term partnership.

The Grupo Salinas company will have access to broadcast the WPT’s extensive poker content library. This is across the Latin America region on top of Mexico. The deal is part of the WPT’s ongoing aim of global expansion.

17 seasons of the WPT will now be able to reach tens of millions of viewers giving a welcome boost to the brand. The two parties will also work together to produce original programs for the Spanish speaking community. The WPT will help TV Azteca launch a social poker app aimed at the Latin American market as well.

TV Azteca has a wide reach with access to 95% of the Mexican market alone.

It promises to give a welcome boost to the WPT in terms of global reach.
