Demo Kiriopoulos takes down WPT Fallsview Poker Classic
Many congratulations go to Canadian Demo Kiriopoulos who recorded his biggest ever cash at his home tournament, the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic in Ontario.
“This one is special because it’s home court,” he said just minutes after the win.
The 602 entries produced a prize pool of over CAD$2m meaning Kiriopoulos walked away with CAD$517,424 as well as a $15k seat at the WPT Tournament of Champions.
He went into the final day as one of the shortest stacks left with just under 15 big blinds but when his K’s held up early on against K10, the scene was set for an impressive comeback.
Kiriopoulos has had several big cashes before with 3 $100K plus cashes including sixth place at the PartyPoker Millions Canada last year for CAD$400k.
The likes of Ping Liu, Brian Altman, Darren Elias and Andrew Chan all cashed but missed out on a final table that consisted of 5 Canadians and 1 American player.
Those players that made the final 6 were as follows:
Place | Player | Home Country | Prize (USD) |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Demo Kiriopoulos | Canada | CA$517,424 ($393,462) |
2 | Wing Yeung | Canada | CA$362,853 ($275,922) |
3 | Andrew Pantling | Canada | CA$233,339 ($177,445) |
4 | Jake Schwartz | USA | CA$167,388 ($127,292) |
5 | James Morgan | Canada | CA$128,471 ($97,703 |

Congratulations to all those players that cashed from everyone at LateReg!
