This is the second year of the Unibet UK Poker Tour and the second visit this year to Brighton. I was asked by somebody at Unibet to feature the tournament again on the site as I had done last year. To be honest, I forgot all about it until today. I am looking to play a couple of tournies over the next few weeks, so half an hour ago I powered up the laptop and started my search.
There are three main points I look at when deciding on a tourney; distance, cost and experience. I don’t want to travel too far, would like the entry fee to be under £500. But it is the ‘experience’ that is most important for me; I want a professionally run tournament that is held in a comfortable place. Tournament Director Doug Leonard ticks the box, he always operates a great tourney. Also, if the town is interesting and the hotel is good, then I am a happy chappie. Brighton is so diverse that there is something for everybody when it comes to entertainment. The Rendezvous is a nice casino, out of town at the marina but it is surrounded by some great restaurants and bars,
So, it is Brighton and the Unibet UK Poker tour for me, hope to see you there!.
Next Stops on the Unibet Poker Tour
There are just two poker tour stops left; Next is Brighton 27th & 28th October (Day 1’s) with Final Day on the Sunday 29th. Final stop is Manchester (see schedule below). Last year the tournament attracted a number of overseas players. There are Qualifiers running online from as little as €1. The packages that can be won have a €500 value, the £220 ticket plus travel expenses, definitely worth a fivers worth of tournament entries. Let us know if you qualify online, good luck!
Each of the five stops has a £220 buy-in with a £40,000 guarantee. Main Event winners will also receive a Unibet Open package worth €2,000, also the longest lasting online qualifier for the event will win a package. This is a deep-stack event with a 40 min clock.
€1 Satellite Entry to £71,950 Prize Money !
And here is the proof that it can be done. Take for example; Gerret Van Lancker who won the Unibet Open on February 27th this year in London. He banked almost £72k for just €1 satellite entry at Unibet online. It could be you next year!.
